The Power of Sacrificial Praise–God has Got to Show up if I do it right

The Power of Sacrificial Praise..,V Woods

I have heard of the power of God and the manifest presence of God and I have experience visitations from Jesus on a personal, power and out of this world level, but I long for this manifestation to contaminate the places of worship.  How is it that King Solomon was able to pray a prayer of such intensity that God chose to leave His throne and come to earth to examine, see for Himself if this is genuine and what He is hearing from His throne in Heaven.  He came to examine the authenticity of the offering and not one person, not Solomon, but everyone in the immediate vicinity had a visual testimony of such a manifestation.

How is it that Moses the man of God, the one that was called friend by the Almighty Yah went on a journey which is by personal invitation, into a mountain top; he got right up close and personal with this Almighty entity named “I AM” and spent days in His presence; the evidence of such an occurrence being that upon returning to his people in the valley, the glory of the Almighty had rubbed off on his visage and he Moses, carried the light, the purity, the manifestation of such a visitation upon his person that “whosoever” looked upon him needed to hide themselves because of the “evidence” of this visit with the Almighty.  Who would dare doubt that he had been in the presence of God? None. The evidence spoke for itself.

How is it that Manoah and his wife in Judges 13:19-21 (KJV), offered an offering that transcended earth to heaven directly to the throne of God; that had the impact of letting a human entity aware that he had come into contact with a representative of the living God Almighty Yahweh.

“So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the Lord: and the angel did wondrously; and Manoah and his wife looked on. For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground. But the angel of the Lord did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the Lord”.

Then I beg the question, we have experienced, we have believed in the resurrection of Christ, we have taken Him as a living part of our existence; He has planted His very spirit within us so that we need not shudder nor be afraid of the express manifestation of evil.  Yet still our fight is more concentrated upon the base, the small, the things which easily beset us, the petty, the inhumane behavior toward each other, the inability to love when He Jesus informs us that “God is love”; when He also told us in case we doubt the veracity of His existence, that He was there in the beginning of creation and He will surely be the end all of our existence because He is “Alpha and Omega”.  How is it when He told us that we “have power to thread on snakes and scorpions”; His Apostle Paul being able to dispatch the venom of a viper as nothing and rose up to minister as nothing big had occurred.

People of God, I put a stress upon God, because if you call yourself, the redeemed, the drafted in, the called and righteousness of God, how are we so easily beset?

How is it we sing and we pray and we praise Him, yet for a fullness of the cloud which Solomon induced (1 Kings 8), which Moses wore on his person (Ex 34), which Manoah exemplified with earth to heaven transcendence (Judges 13), which Isaiah displayed with evidence of earthquake as well (Isa 6); where is it for us? Where is it for us?

I beseech us as the body of the Living God to get to the place where we say it and it is; can we minister to God and have Him come and show us that as He was there in the beginning and with our Patriarchs, He can do even better with us. Do you think we can get to this stage again in this polluted existence we are living? Well, can you?

“Yet still our fight is more concentrated upon the base, the small, the things which easily beset us, the petty, the inhumane behavior toward each other, the inability to love when He Jesus informs us that “God is love”; when He also told us in case we doubt the veracity of His existence, that He was there in the beginning of creation and He will surely be the end all of our existence because He is “Alpha and Omega”. ”

I hear in this the question, “How is it that we can see life this way, think in so small a way… given the glory, the grace, and the magnificence of Holy God within us and among us?”

I pose the thought… perhaps we are so small minded because, frankly, most of us look upon GOD as being so small minded. As though God focused with intense concentration on the “Yet still our fight is more concentrated upon the base, the small, the things which easily beset us, the petty, the inhumane behavior toward each other, the inability to love…” that we experience in our human frailty. So many Christians I know TALK about the “infinite love, forgiveness, and grace of Christ”… without ever really embracing the reality that He holds THEM IN IT.

That no matter what they themselves have ever done, are doing, or will do… no matter how depraved their thinking, their temptations, their failures… Christ knows those frailties, embraces them, bled upon them, forgave and removed/removes/will remove them, and covers that person in His own Righteousness. Why? Because that’s just how Jesus loves, and we can choose ONLY to receive and accept that love and grace, or to refuse it.

So many Christians think there’s a third option. I can choose to receive all that… But THEN… I have to continue to “qualify for it” by my OWN efforts at righteousness. In this way, you see… in this proud, fallen, egotistical way… the enemy can convince us that our sonship in Christ, our salvation, redemption, rescue is not owed to the grace and love of God alone… but that WE OURSELVES (puff out chest and point to self proudly)… WE have to ADD something to Jesus’ work, in order to be saved.

Paul tried to squash this subtle heresy when he said, “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” [Ephesians 2:8-9] He tried, but we don’t want to hear that. That’s far too humbling. OBVIOUSLY grace ALONE isn’t enough. We’ve just GOT to add “our works” to that grace, right? Wrong.

But the “Grace Plus” crowd has always outnumbered the “Grace of God Alone” crowd. And “Grace Plus” depends on a small-thinking, narrow-minded God to support the “scorekeeping” structure it depends on.

Why are people so readily petty in their understanding of God? Because they choose to worship, and have only heard about, a very petty Image of God. Unfortunately, an Idol, actually. And every day, every moment, Jesus and those through whom He loves work to knock that off its pedestal.

Grace to thee… (and ONLY grace!) 🙂 — LM

My God, I am getting ready to hunker down for more. Let God be true and every man a liar and to Him the only wise God be all the glory. Thanks for your extraction of such a humble post. vw
