God: speaks to our hearts; is very clear in His direction; He gets our attention
1 Kings 19:11-13(KJV) ”And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?”
At times we do things and get pretty certain what we are doing is the right thing; it’s big, attractive and everyone loves it. What if the big thing that you are engaged in is not what is right and God isn’t in it?
Look at Elijah and his desperate flee from before the face of Ahab and his killer wife Jezebel. He retreated into a cave a certain distance from where they lived and waited what for he wasn’t certain. Yet when the demonstrations and fireworks went off indicating that his God was in trying to contact him, he knew and was able to identify the smokescreens.
Are you able to discern smokescreens and know when the big, flamboyant issues are taking away from what God is trying to accomplish or speak into your life?
Beloved, listen, be patient, search it out and try the spirits whether they be of God; He is trying to talk to you even this moment.
Trivia: In speaking to God, he told God that He was perfect before him: who is this person?
