God: is ever giving of His grace …
John 8:31-36 (KJV) “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
For many of us, we exist in a state of mental slavery, however, if truth be told we have not reconciled that fact to our minds. We tend to be in denial of the state of events and if for the most part there exists a fulfillment of needs and at the basic level we coexist with a certain acceptance of peace, then our minds are satisfied.
But what of the deeper aspects of our souls and spirits?
Those are not ministered to in the larger view of events and the Savior is accurate to point out our servitude to sin. We were born in sin and shaped in iniquity and it is a part of our life which needs to be dealt with.
Thankfully the Son of man has already paid the price and we just need to accept it and walk in it. Let our freedom be established in fullness.
