God: did this for me…
1 Timothy 2:5-7 (KJV) “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.”
As an unbeliever I had an awareness of God, but never the inclination to do the things my mother and some siblings did; I didn’t grasp the concept of hell and the potent knowledge that a man died for me: Jesus Christ was willing and did indeed make a sacrifice of His life to purchase my own was not hitting hard on my consciousness.
When the word says, “He does the calling”, a truer statement was never impacted on my heart until I heard Him and He made the words really loud, because you see, I can be a bit stubborn and obstinate. His call had to be dramatic, and in hindsight, I realize it was as a result of the fact that He knew me, it was between Him and I.
No one getting in between, He spoke the words, He ordered me, I surrendered; He beckoned in the manner I would understand and I quickly acquiesce.
My God; what intelligence and wit, to know each and every one of us and what drives us.
It’s between Him and I and it so special.
