God: knows the words already…
Psalm 19:14 (KJV) “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.”
In this life we have much to say and as a matter of fact the practice we have gotten into is to be say stuff then apologize for what we have said, especially when they cause serious offences against others.
The Psalmist penned the words beseeching the Lord that the words he spoke and even before they emerge from his mouth and swirl around in his heart that they just might be acceptable to HIM.
Words have power to hurt and cut deep and at times when we say them, we just wish that they might not have been said.
With that said, let our words encourage and build up, correct and restore. We also have been in positions where we wanted reassurance versus brutishness.
Speak sound words.
