God: visits us at odd times….
Luke 19:8-9 (KJV) “And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.”
Most of us know the story of Zacchaeus in the word and His zeal to see and hear from the master; his story shows us how persistence also pays off in the long run. But what impresses me about this individual is the conviction which he underwent and the judicious action to correct the wrong he did to mankind.
Many of us at times find ourselves in faults that become evident to us and we dumb up to the point where it’s almost as if it never did happen. Even the cursory apology is not forthcoming from within us: that is sad for a believer.
Zacchaeus stood up as a man and someone who experience the presence of God. May this conviction of when the God of holiness visits us comes bring us to the point where we can acknowledge that what He requires is right living.
