Humility is complicated….

God: looks at the unexpected….

Philippians 2:5-8 (KJV) “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

At times we find ourselves subject to certain situations and it might not be the best circumstance or place in our lives that we would want for ourselves, but life and time happens to each of us; none of us are spared.

When that time of change or situation occurs we don’t know what we will do or how we will react, but God gave us a perfect example in His son, our Savior Jesus Christ: He was a king and He came to this world and took on Him the form of a servant, a man. He left His throne in glory and was born in a manger.

Life gave Him oranges and He created a mixture He could live with, and the only complaint recorded was, “if it be thy will, let this cup pass from me”. Not much in the way of complains in comparison to this world standard today.

Reminds me of the song, “whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, it is well with my soul”. True humility is dealing with the oranges life brings; easy to recognize, hard to do.

Song Reference: “When Peace Like a River attendeth my way” Horatio Gates Spafford (1873).

When peace, like a river, attendeth my wayW

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way
