God: appreciates a focused mind…
James 3:10-12 (KJV) “Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.”
It is a rare case that in our life we can definitively decide on what we want in every situation in a single sitting; there are times we have to really mull on the case, determine the pros and cons and the causes behind the act.
We tend to live with a mixture of this and a little bit that to make our lives more comfortable; but we know ultimately that we are called to love the things that God loves and eschew the evil things that will draw us away from being in a perfect relationship with Him.
Sometimes it just doesn’t matter how hard we try, but the wrong things just keep getting in the way and make us that more distant from where we want to be in getting into that place with our Father.
May the grace of our Father cover us with a perpetual covering that will stand the test of time and help us be firm in our decisions for Him.
