He was needed….

God: knew His Son’s blood was needed….

Hebrews 10:11-14 (KJV) “And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”

Throughout the ages before the appearance of Jesus on earth, it was required that sacrificial offerings be made to recompense the sins of man against a holy God; the priests were required to do this so that the precious lives would be saved especially seeing that we are prone to sin.

Jesus arrived on the scene and it was for a season and a purpose; God knew the plan was for His Son to be the ultimate sacrificial lamb and even as they crucified Him on the cross, the agony was great, but the purpose was at the forefront of His eyes.

He knew that for this reason He was sent and He was in agreement with His Father, so He could say, “it is finished”. May we appreciate that which was done for us, even before the foundation of time. The blood washes us, it cleanse and makes us pure before a holy God.

Even before the foundation of time–how beautiful that the sins of the [even of the] past, present and future can be covered by the blood of Christ!
