God: allowed His death….
John 19:17-19 (KJV) “And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was Jesus Of Nazareth The King Of The Jews”.
Taking into consideration the meaning and acts of the cross it can be very easy to dislike the mention of it at first sight; but if you look at it from another perspective you can understand that without the cross, some of the things we have today would not be possible.
Christ died on the cross and it was a highlight of His life to see Him hanging for all to see; He was taken up, lifted high and it wasn’t done in hiding: they made His death very public and everyone can benefit from it.
His blood ran and it oozed from a high place to cover a swath of ground; the blood of Jesus is still effective today.
His name was blazoned across the the top of the cross where He hung for all to see: Jesus of Nazareth. No mistake with anyone knowing who He is even today.
The cross might be an offense to some, but for many it holds the key to deliverance; thank God for the cross.
