God: unlocks His arms to receive praises…
James 5:13 (KJV) “Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms”.
When we come under attack and our bodies are afflicted, the last thing we want to do is to be thankful or acknowledge the awesomeness of God. Much less when things in our lives start to erode and we can’t figure out by intuition the cause, it can be very perplexing.
We readily ask the question, “does Jesus care?” Is he in tune with what is happening in our lives, is my prayers being answered and if so, what is the response?
Things can accelerate very quickly whenever we are under pressure, and yet at that time we don’t know how to proceed.
In the interim, Jesus is waiting, patiently, with bated breath hoping that we would turn to Him for resolution; at times we remember, sometimes we don’t. But according to the word, in the times of affliction, we need to pray and even when we get the deliverance, remember to sing psalms of thanksgiving to Him who saved and delivered.
