God: will blow your mind when you wait….
John 20:10-14 (KJV) “Then the disciples went away again unto their own home. But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him. And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus”.
There are times and days when it is our duty to be in the position of waiting, yet it does’t come easy to some of us; it is s chore to wait. It hurts us to the very core of our being to be told that it will take a little while or that our position is to hold on to time and be expectant.
The gift of long-suffering is a part of the fruit of the spirit (Galations 5) and it would behoove us to ask for it; grab it and run with it so that we as believers will be fully furnished.
But as we see in the reading today, Mary was motivated by something beyond herself; the others who came with her, was satisfied with the bare essential, she waited and it paid off.
My friend sometimes in our prayer life, we want something so badly yet we whisper a prayer and don’t persevere; but it is in the waiting before God that our blessing can be realized.
Don’t be too quick to leave His presence: wait a while.
