Take it in context…

God: has an expectation of us…

Romans 8:1-2 (KJV) “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death”.

Sometimes we who are called after to be believers fall short of what is required of us in putting into practice that which is required and yes there are requirements for us: God has a standard.

There are yet times again when we use the word of God erroneously and out of context to suit our purposes: that my friend is wrong and needs to be corrected.

In this reading, the word of God tells us “there is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”, some of us stop after the first section of the paragraph “…Jesus” and cease to grasp the remaining lines of cautionary.

We need to be in the Spirit, for in such a state we will get from God and please Him at the same time. If you intention is to be at one with the Lord, we need to serve Him spiritually. Our God has a standard.

To be in Christ is to walk after the Spirit. Those of us who died to our sins were raised with Christ to live a new life. Dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus (Romans 6). Thank you for today’s meditation, Sister.
