God: created a place of exchange…
Matthew 16:24-26 (KJV) “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul”?
A cross isn’t something we are very comfortable with especially when we know the ramifications of the cross and it’s usage in the crucifixion of Jesus, our risen Savior; but the cross is representative of the burdens we bear in this life and the things we have to undergo as believers.
We have to get accustomed to the cross, because even as Jesus bore it once for us, we daily go through trials and testings that can be synonymous of carrying a cross in this life: we have to take it up daily and carry it.
Beloved it becomes easier as you get accustomed to picking it up; it gets lighter, and the thing is, the carrying fortifies us and brings out the best we have within us.
Carry the cross: gain your soul..
