God: gave us a will that fights us at times…
Galatians 2:11-14 (KJV) “But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?”
In this walk that we are doing to be of Christ and be closer to Him, we come up against some enemies of the faith and one of the worst ones is our flesh; self will and being led by the flesh can give us a fierce fight even against the thing we know to be true.
As a result of this we tend to be fighting against or with those who are very close to us. It hurts and it can be very tiring, but the best thing after all is said and done: which brother or sister hasn’t fought each other, or what husband and wife hasn’t had odds with each other.
Don’t let the flesh win the battle; don’t let it fester. Ask God for His Spirit to intercede and do that which you can’t do for yourself: win and overcome the battle.
