He is on me….

God: poured it upon me….

Isaiah 61:1-3 (KJV) “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified”.

To the only wise God who saw it fit to send His only begotten son as the one standing in the gap for us and who returned to heaven so that the precious Spirit of God can come and fellowship with us.

To God be the glory for pouring out His spirit upon us; sweet holy Spirit, I thank you and welcome your grace and love to someone like me. Thank you for selecting to abide with me even as the days go by, so that I can be used of you in ways I think myself unworthy.

Yet you stand with me, consistently showing your presence. Your word has gone forth, there is work to be done; God let your glory and your presence manifest and you alone God: receive the glory.

  1. There is a beautiful praise hymn that has some of the words: “beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise,” and others. Thanks for the post.

  2. Beautiful dear sister! Merry Christmas, and may your day be amazingly blessed!
