God: is specific in what He says…
Matthew 18:10 (KJV) “Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven”.
In reading the bible we come across some things which we verses that makes us cringe and really pray about how to conceptualize them, but then again when you get to the part where Jesus is speaking you do the only thing possible: take it in and learn to abide in it.
At this point it is the knowledge that God is speaking which raise up in your consciousness. In this verse the relevance of how you treat children is magnified by Jesus as He cautions that in despising them, you face a greater condemnation, especially seeing that their protection has a direct audience with Almighty God the Father in heaven.
Yes we are warned to proceed with caution in dealing with the young ones a petition to God is a glimpse away. I don’t know about you, but knowing that an unjust judgment can fall upon an individual because of their treatment of others in itself is cause to be a good soul in this world, but then again being good because it is in character is another motivation.
But additionally, when the Son of God warns you to be careful it takes on another dimension. Folks, just love the children.
