God: has a backup plan…
Numbers 22:31-33 (KJV) “Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face. And the angel of the Lord said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse before me: And the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive”.
I am pretty sure we all have been in this predicament at some time in our lives; we seek to accomplish something that we ought to leave alone and we know it’s not in our best interest, yet we persist and have to pay the price for our actions.
Consistently this guy is warned and understands the divine visitations that He got, which was very personable, but at the end of it all, he understood the most gratifying methodology was to fulfill His needs. He also got a reality check in the midst of those actions.
When we persist in having our way against all the caution that God places before us, don’t be surprise that the warnings escalate and the backlash will tell.
