God: still requires that trait of holiness from us….
1 Peter 1:15-17 (KJV) “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear”:
When we think of holiness, it brings to mind someone who is clad in the clothing of a minister of priest and has maintained that chaste behavior that God requires of us; but holiness is something or a way of life that is not only dependent on that perception, it is something that God requires of each and everyone He calls His own.
Holiness in Christ is living without sin, taking on the cloak of righteousness and choosing to look the other way when others or the things of this world seem to be pulling us away from relationship with Him our Savior.
God wouldn’t speak it and require it if it wasn’t possible; the world say you have to come down, Jesus is saying come up higher in your expectation of yourself and what you are capable of doing.
The world is telling you: no one can be holy in this life, Jesus is saying: I came to earth to show you that it is doable and I overcame and is sitting at the right hand of my Father making intercession for you right now; Holiness is needed; I gave you grace to trust me enough to be holy.
My grace allows you to be strong enough to face up to the detractors who need for you to be at their level. Beloved, GoD requires holiness from us; from you, me, from all of us called by His name and He knows that we are able…. Be holy….
