1 Corinthians 10:5-6 (KJV) “But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.”
We tend to pick up bad habits sometimes which can be a snare to us as we go through this world. These acts tend to be not only unsavory in manifestation, but it causes the Spirit of God to grieve and it is at this time that I can say “thank God for his grace” of which we were not able to partake we would all be dead.
We look on the person committing what we think of as “big sins” and believe that we are safe in the smaller offenses we make a habit in our lives. One thing I love of the characteristics of God is that He isn’t partial, but brings about a just recompense for all men.
Even if some men sin’s will go on before them, we all have a responsibility to answer for the things we do. Just as the Israelites were responsible for their actions in their relationship with God in the OT when they brought about the judgment of God against them, the word of God says that the entire situation is a warning, a cautionary to us not to walk in the same transgression.
My friend in the times of our ignorance Gd winks, but when we have come to the knowledge of what is offensive or what displeases Him then it is time to change it. Who are you pleasing today?
