God: has ways to bless us which can be quite interesting..
Psalm 140:4-5 (KJV) “For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds”.
I was blessed with a mother who was wise beyond her years, she took delight in loving the Lord and He loved her back more than she did Him. The things she went through were beyond understanding at times, but what was amazing is how she dealt with them: “them” could be classified as attacks, spiritual warfare, onslaught from the kingdom of darkness”; yet she came through them with humility.
I’m not going to say she didn’t have battle scars to show, because she did; she was humble at a level I seldom encounter in my life today, so seeing how she dealt with stuff is a milestone in my life which I keep before me. When I look at my life and how I deal with some base situations, I am thinking I needed to pay more attention at that stage because I have missed some aspects of humility and meekness.
If you pay attention to what the psalmist is saying here through one of the better known Psalms of worship and adoration to God; He takes pleasure in His people, especially those who meek. And He doesn’t leave it there, but it is promised that He will beautify the meek with salvation. Some folks who know and have been told that they have a meek spirit in the Lord can just about start glorifying God because of the fact that this is a promise of surety.
This is payback for taking with grace the nagging, insults, torment, backbiting, unceasing negativity which never let up. God sees how you deal with it and He doesn’t call you “stupid” for not letting loose at the handle and telling those folks a few choice words peppered with salt from the same mouth you just used to worship God.
He said He will bless you with salvation; and my gosh, it might be difficult for some of us to endure such torment, but it might just have been your “thorn in the flesh” to overcome and you haven’t.
Now I can’t say that my mother was a 100% saint and sanctified, but her behavior was consistent enough for it to have an impact on my mind. Beloved, those attacks which triggers tumultuous thoughts within you might have been allowed by God to see “what is in your heart”, so maybe if you were reacting violently when humility and meekness is what the Spirit of God is prompting from you then maybe some deep prayers and consult with Him who can take it away.
Nothing is impossible with God; just try Him.
