God: expects belief in us….
St John 3:12 (KJV) “If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?”
Imagine having a special occasion where the Savior has visited you and He is gracing you with a plethora of information as it relates to your life and what will happen in the course of the years to come; that my friend will be an awesome event, and it will bring about changes which will have an effect on your life for years to come if not for eternity.
But what if you are that one, after your period of visitation refuses to even acknowledge that it has occurred; what if you are the Thomas of the lot? Special dispensation is granted to you, favor of supernatural proportion drops into your lap and you think you imagined it; yes, there is always one who doubts.
But even so, I believe the mere fact that the Savior chose to visit you, me or any one of us is because we were chosen to accomplish a task and God is about to do something wonderful in our lives. The problem arises after the fact when we chose not to believe on what is happening. Doubt drives a wedge between what we can accomplish and what we deem impossible.
Joshua in the Old Testament had some big shoes to fit when he had to follow as leader after Moses, but through it all, his faith did not waiver and he held unto the determination which caused him to be selected by determining that he would be steadfast, and not he alone, but his entire household.
My friend, think it not strange the words which you have read today, God is still in control of this world and He is visiting mankind to establish His purpose and His will for us today. When He visits (not if), be prepared to accept and accomplish the task put before you. God has promised to pour out His spirit on mankind and if He said it, it shall surely come to pass.
