God: cleans the slate totally…
Luke 7:47-48 (KJV) “Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven”.
At one point in life I had the option of being a very sinful individual without repentance; in actuality, I sinned with unabashed love for what I was doing, taking no thought that I needed to be careful for the future and that life was not just surrounded in the here and now, never acknowledging that much more was to come, and that if I chose to receive it, I would have to make a change.
I am sure many of us have also been indulgent in our past lives and we also took little thought of what would happen when we left this world; like the woman that Jesus ministered to, our sins were many and if not for the grace of God we would still be either wallowing in those excesses or dead without any thought for redemption.
But even as Jesus did for this poor woman whose sin was magnified because of its transparency we are able to repent of both the visible and invisible sins which we have done in the pass and those we still partake of; He will and is still forgiving us because of who He is.
Beloved you might believe that your life, your actions, your thoughts were too much and too vivid to be forgiven, but Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever is saying that yes they might be many, but they are forgiven. Press toward the mark of the higher calling which is in Christ Jesus; your sins are forgiven.
