Smiling at you behind the hate….

God: reads the heart not what is on the face….

Galatians 2:11-12 (KJV) “But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision”.

It is a difficult thing to get caught up in dissembling or behavior where you turn out to be a pretender; you lose all credibility and at times it takes a lot for folks to trust you as they ought to especially when the relationship is important to both parties.

If you are a pretender, it just might not be important to you that you fabricated and pretended and what is known of you is just a façade. Don’t get me wrong, you can’t lay it lose out there for everyone to see who you are all the time; there are times you have got to be secretive about some things, guard certain issues, but in the alternate the time arises when transparency is of the utmost importance.

You see where I am going with this: Peter the man who was told by Jesus “When you are converted, strengthen the brethren,” (Luke 22:32) was acting the happy, fun loving and personable individuals among the unsaved folks, but as soon as representatives from head office arrives, his behavior changes and he is all officious.

Hmm, that can be quite perturbing behavior in an individual can’t it? You don’t know how to deal with them; they got this issue dealing with one moment, the next it’s another issue and you get quite dizzy dealing with the issues: you can’t keep track of it all.

Paul had to upbraid him for his inconsistencies; do you have those traits in your behavior as to how you treat others when you aren’t around your “real friends” and are hanging out with your pretend friends? You can be honest here, no one knows you like that; you are a dissembler, which isn’t to be honest something good.

Find a path and when you find it; walk therein, let it be the right path in Jesus name.

I admire Paul for coming to Peter for the sake of the gospel. He was protecting the freedom of the gospel and knew Peter was being influenced by the Judaizers. Good friends are ones who tell you that you are hanging with the wrong crowd.
