God:selects whomsoever He wishes and sends them…
Genesis 12:1 “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee”.
If you have been in relationship with Jesus for any length of time you know how precious it is when He communicates with you; yes communication comes by reading the Word, meditating etc. but when He speaks to your heart and you have that conversation going which for the most part is short, yet the message is meaningful, intimate and very precious.
It’s a different kind of wonderful and you may try to explain it, but folks never really get what you are trying to say because you can’t explain IT to them how you get it; you might try, but it never comes across in the right way.
Abraham must have been in some kind of dilemma when he got this big order from God: pack up everything and leave your heritage, your kindred and what pertains to your father’s house and go. That in itself calls for a huge dose of faith to act on the unseen, leaving what is familiar and comfortable to go where you haven’t been before and believe that it will turn out for the good.
From history we see that he was not disappointed; how many of us have been directed to go and we hesitate, hee haw, and make just about every excuse as it relates to family, children, relationships, school, health and on and on just to create a barrier from doing as commanded?
I bet you have all kinds of crazy regrets just about now if you are contrasting that delay or refusal to the “GO” command to where you are right now in life. You weigh the balance and it’s not adding up where you are because you chose the safety of the comfort zone.
My friend, it might have been a once in a lifetime offer, but who knows, maybe God will be merciful as He is known to be: a merciful God, longsuffering and patiently kind toward us; seek His face again.
