God: giveth and taketh…
Psalms 49:16-18 (KJV) “Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased; for when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him. Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.”
It takes someone who is stable within themselves and not given to being craven to see someone become successful and not be envious with all the petty emotions and attitudes which that envy will entail.
I believe to some measure each person walking this planet wants to be able to effectively take care of themselves and their responsibilities, unless something is out of synch in their thinking process. Then again there are extremes to every situation which spreads to both end of the spectrum.
Yes the neighbor is driving a great looking car, but then again the maintenance and insurance is another car note in itself; yes the house and servants are to dream for, but the responsibility of dealing with other people’s stress (employees), the money to pay them and keep them happy if you don’t want them to loot the gold from beneath you and your lifestyle is subject to public consumption; people aren’t always trustworthy with stuff they are privy to. And these are just a few of the minor issues your neighbor with the cash has to deal with.
God blesses us on this earth for many reasons; but holding unto that which He blesses us to the point that you ceases from doing good and is become a miser is something God isn’t pleased with. Additionally, holding unto it and making it all about yourself is an entitlement that no man should practice; you can’t take it with you anyways.
Beloved, if God blesses you to the point that you excel in what you ever thought you would, remember the house of God and those less fortunate. God has a way of turning fortunes around to suit Himself.
