God: did prior planning….
Isaiah 53:8 (KJV) “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all”.
There are many things happening in the world and we “the people” lean to the learned multitude for an acceptable rationale for occurrence and when we get a concept that is pleasing to our minds we nod in agreement and leave it alone until further research is conducted.
I respect the years of research and study a person or any group of researchers does to get to a reasonable understanding of the issues we deal with in life, but there is one source whose opinions supersede all other years of learned reflections and that is the true word.
In yesterday’s daily reading we got a sense of foretelling of how Jesus came and became the sacrificial sheep for the things we undergo and endure; on the other side of the sacrifice is the appropriation: we have to take the offer which is provided otherwise it’s just gold in the earth untapped.
Our reading today further divulges the realm of the sacrifice and offer; it is an open blanket offer, made to all of humanity; everyone is in error, we all have junk we are dealing with, we all need the sacrifice that was made, we all have to at some point or other make a decision to take Him up on the offer which is freely available to us.
Many of us substitute some other choice to alleviate the things we are going through, but that’s wasted space, time and effort when the choice has already been availed to us; Father told us the reason He sent the son to take on what we are undergoing is because “all we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned everyone to his own way”. My supposition then is if having our own way wasn’t acceptable then and such a large sacrifice was built into the blueprint to counteract the act of self-will, then us doing the same today when the offer is there is much less acceptable.
My friend, yes you have a problem and in fact I do have some myself, but I got to the understanding that these problems will try to manifest itself in one form or the other, but I got something (one) more powerful than any problem willing to manifest itself: Jesus Christ.
The nice part about is that He has got me also.
New trivia: a king fasted for one of God’s beloved sons; who are these two individuals?
