God: can call you any time….
Hebrews 3:15 (KJV) “While it is said, today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation”.
You get the gist when you are going through the word that the language is as plain as one can expect; when it is a word of favor, you get it; when it is a cautionary, you get it; and when it is a warning, you can’t help but know it.
God took His time in putting together this instruction for us so that there can’t be any misunderstanding when He wants to commend you from when He wants you to get your act together. This is very much the example of what we have for today’s reading: if you: harden your hearts when the calls comes, when the Spirit of God comes knocking on the door of your heart; when He whispers, “come” to you in the early morning, at the noon time hour, even at eve of the day, when He comes and He calls, answer and let it be yes.
For many of us, we never pay any mind to that voice, the leading, the gentle prodding, the circumstances that have turned awry as He does so much to get our attentions; we believe it is chance that the car crashed and we never get hurt; we fall over the walkway and get up walking without bruises; we go running and trip and fall over the embankment and no harm is upon our bodies: He is trying to get our attention, and we won’t listen.
One thing we can acknowledge is that God gave us a free will, but when we allow that gift to be a hindrance to us getting into the kingdom of God, my friend, that is the bigger woe in our lives; today when you hear Him call: answer.
