This call requires change…

to the work

God: calls us through His Spirit..

Acts 23:11 (KJV) “And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome”.

You accepted the call of Christ on your life with limited knowledge of what you are required to do in the ways of being a follower. Many believe erroneously that it finished when they gave their lives to Christ; but they might not have heard the verse, “no man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:44 KJV).

Some might think it is a simple thing, and they delay the call, the repeated pressing, knocking, calling they get, thinking there is plenty of time to get around to it, but we are told, “To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation” (Hebrews 3:15 KJV).

But the call comes with work, it comes with action, it comes with a giving up, a putting away, changing of allegiance; it might be difficult to believe, but some of the things we are doing has allegiance to a leader who is not Christ, don’t argue with me, ask the one whom you pledge allegiance to: He requires change and change will come if we are doing it as He requires.

It’s not ok to be the same way year in or become worst than when you got converted; but someone did some contrary thing and has managed to fool many of us into thinking that how we are fine in God’s eyes. Question then, if we are in relationship with Him, He ought to tell us, commune with us and let us know by our conscience, through the Word or even the work of His spirit in our lives when we divert from what we need to be doing, then why isn’t it happening?

Effective workmanship or the witnessing aspect comes when we address the things that are creating barriers and one of the biggest rebellions to our effectiveness is rebellion. Don’t be fooled, it doesn’t take a loud, big noise to demonstrated, but it can be accomplished in silence and non activity as well.

So getting back on track: we got called, we answered, we put our hands to the plow, now it is time to allow the changes to change us and get in alignment with His expectations for us; when we relinquish all the hang ups, then He can do what He called us to do.

New trivia: a king fasted for one of God’s beloved sons; who are these two individuals?
