Fluctuating emotions…yes:no (who wins)

God: already won the battle…

Luke 4:13 (KJV) “And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season”.

Everyone has at one point or another been tempted and some of us have been tempted to the point where we have done things that downright unreasonable and cruel; yet being tempted is nothing unusual for us as humans.

The first man and his wife was tempted to the point where they bargained away their birthright and exchanged their rights for a lifetime of affliction and hard labor for all who have come after them.

Nevertheless, we see that even our Savior was not beyond temptation and as He was tempted, He withstood with the strength and power of the indwelling Spirit of God and he overcame the tempter who had no choice but to leave for different strategies.

Today if you are tempted is it too much to ask and call upon the earnest power of the spirit of God which is constantly at our disposal as believers to remove that temptation. Do it with a mind made up to receive help and not a double mind in league with the sin.

If God has already made a way for you to overcome the temptation, know that the success is already in the bag; you have won the battle. My friend, depend upon the power and guiding hand of the Spirit of God….

Father, in the name of Jesus, I know that anything is possible through you, but most of all I know we fight against different spirits, powers and principalities; Father I know the battle has already been won through Jesus death, burial and resurrection. It is with this knowledge that I call upon the Spirit which raised Jesus from the dead to overcome all that is coming against me and I declare that my battles are forever triumphant through the blood of Jesus. Amen.

New trivia: a king fasted for one of God’s beloved sons; who are these two individuals?
