God: everything transparent before him….
Psalm 90:8 (KJV) “You have set our iniquities before You, Our secret sins in the light of Your countenance”.
A while back I didn’t know much about the transformation of the mind in relationship to being a believer. I met other believers who standardized the phrase, “if God wants me to change He will do the work” and it was an indication that certain behaviors and traits in their character was to be a staple and not to be touched, removed or hampered with.
It got to the point that when you come into contact with such behavior in the body of Christ, it tended to rub off on you, making you dogmatic as well in certain stubborn traits and strongholds in my life. I would like to point out at this point that as a young believer, if you are reading this please let your prayer be that God allows His Spirit to teach you and bring you to all truths.
Scripture does caution us that we ought not to “be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” Romans 12:2 (KJV); this is sound doctrine which allows us to see that our sinful nature is not acceptable to God and it certainly is not acceptable as training material for the body.
Our reading today shows although we put up a big front and tend to be strong in our doubting of the need for change, we also try to hide our wrong doing from the face of God; but He is God, He knows it all. We try to pretend He doesn’t exist and this really doesn’t change the cost of coffee: God is real and He is in all of our business. Our efforts, lacks and struggles are evident before His face.
That which we try to hide is ever before His face: His light exposes all the darkness within us. Beloved be in agreement with the truth of God and know when He says “change”, do the action; don’t delay your benefits.
