God: will do the rest when you have tried your best….
John 3:6-7 (KJV) “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again”.
Sometimes when I visit with my nieces and nephews I get to shed most of my inhibitions and be almost like a child again; I get to talk relaxed conversations and speak to them at their level and do the things for the most part again which they like to do and then after they have left, I get to being an adult again.
We are spirit, living in human body or having flesh to inhabit and for the majority of our time we are consumed or occupied with things of the physical, but there are certain times when we shed the physical tendencies and lean on the spiritual; at this state there are different interactions and certain experiences which is unusual for the physical man to accommodate in the flesh and it increases or readiness for deeper communication with God.
In His word, Jesus admonition us that “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). And in this reading today Jesus further establishes the realities of the believer: as someone who is born again, there are changes that must be made in our lives to maintain relationship with God; it cannot be the same old behavior which we did prior to conversion.
It’s unto something new and there must be a renewing of our minds, hearts and soul; it cannot be done half heartedly. There are too many benefits, experiences, realms in Christ to try to live a lifestyle of the world. If we haven’t started experiencing the differences, it is a condition which needs to be worked on; a hunger needs to be developed for the things of Christ and then He can meet us as He takes us places we have never been before in our lives.
The change is worth it; giving up certain things is worth it; letting go of the things of the world is most definitely worth it all. Beloved, what are you holding unto today which is preventing that change, that transformation, that renewal to take place and bring you ultimate benefits in this spiritual realm?
Maybe it’s time for a change.
