God: encourages our friendship….
Hebrews 13:5-6 (KJV) “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me”.
When you have a million dollars, it is useless to crave a few dollars or when you own the gold mine it is futile to go scrunching around in pawn shops to find imitation gold. But that is the dilemma many Christian folks are faced with today.
We have the true and living God available to us; ready and willing to be our friend, our Lord, our helper in time of need; our healer, the doctor we call upon; a lawyer in the court room; a mediator when faced with challenges; He offers His assistance to be our spiritual advisor; wants to be the David to our Goliaths; has created scenarios wherein we pattern our lives in the blueprint He wrote Himself.
Yet we still find ourselves seeking for that which does not satisfy; we hunger and thirst for the base things in life and wish to be a part of the system which He instructed us to be wary. In one instance He cautions us to be contented with what we have, and as our Father, He has and will continue to provide for us bountifully.
He went further to insist that even though we walk through dreadful and dangerous valleys and death traps, He WILL forever be there with us.
Beloved, what more can this man, our Father, the Lover of our souls offer to us for us to return that love which He so much has cast upon us?
I believe He has done enough.
