God: wants to get our attention; bless us; secure us into His grace…
Daniel 7:5-6 “We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments: Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land”.
In this prayer of repentance and interceding for his people, we see how this man of God strips himself of everything that will lift itself or exalt itself against the living God. He confesses the sins of the people, his ancestors, and most important his own sins as well.
He didn’t cast stones and beleaguered anyone as being more sinful than another; they were all guilty of transgression against God and he dealt with it to get the pardon needed to move on. One other important aspect of this prayer which was offered was dealing with the spirit of rebellion: God had sent His word, yet they refused to acknowledge that it was from God or to act on it. Repentance of the deepest kind was needed and it was brought before God to be addressed.
This is a guide to us today; we aren’t above offering a repentant heart to God for removal of that which is a barrier to our spiritual walk and the blessings God wants to bestow to us fully and without hindrance: sin will hinder that which God wants to do in our lives, be it temporal or spiritual.
When next you meditate, think on what you have asked God for and you got it trickles not fully; think on what actions you might be entertaining in your life which are contrary to what God requires according to His holy word; think on what the Spirit of God has whispered to you and you have ignored, consistently.
Beloved if the spirit of God brings things to your mind as you meditate, repent and get it out of your system. Move on to that which is promised..
