Job 42:5-6 (KJV) “I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes”.
In life we go through good, bad and everything in between which can be measured as causing a variation of those two words. The process of being born again allows the believer to have that hope and faith which is not available or can come to full fruit by those who do not believe on the Son of Man.
If you have ever had a chance to read the entire book of Job in scriptures you will find tragedy followed by torment and culminated by harassment by frienemies. It is bearable at times to be tested, but when that test includes judgment by friends on the rationale for your trial, it becomes almost unbearable; it takes one to the point of almost believing the pronouncements by this category of folks whom I call (HVH) harper valley hypocrites.
The thing which lifts my spirit when I read this man’s story is not even the level of loss or stress he underwent, but the fact that in it all he knew that God was real. The thing which elevates my spirit even more, is that he was not afraid to question the things he went through; the thing which brings me to a humble appreciation of the things we have to go through is that although he was allowed to be trifled with by God, he was loved enough that God put in an appearance when it came time for his change to come.
In our reading today he was able to communicate effectively when God put in an appearance and confess truthfully that previously he spoke of things which he knew not, he talked about a God who he just trusted in and believed in, but now that his situation was at an end, he could say that He had seen God and what He knew of Him before was foolishness in the face of the reality.
Beloved if you have not have an experience of meeting with God, a visitation from Him; a personal one on one talk where He has made himself real to you as He did with His servant Job, ask for it. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. And if you are going through the valley of the shadow of death, which is not death itself, know that your redeemer still liveth and will make your situation profitable at levels.
