I can’t be like you….

being unique

God: is unique and requires the same from us…

Jeremiah 10:1-2 (KJV) “Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them”.

Everything spoken in the bible is good for some purpose in our daily living; the only way we can utilize the richness of the word is to know what the word is saying. It is useless to be in any group, club or association and you are not aware of the guidelines laid down for them to be effective.

The words we read today from the book of Jeremiah is potent in its examination, especially when we see that we are called to be a called out people from the machinations of the things of the world. God is sending a warning to His people who he loves and desires to see walk in the correct or right way; in the first instance, He requires that they hear the words which are coming forth and He was specific to whom he was sending the message.

As born again believers we are drafted in Jews and as such need to know about our history and how God dealt and still deals with His people who are called by His name. After His address, the message comes forth, “learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven”. Many things are being done today by the world and as believers guided by the word of God we have to practice being wary in how it affects us and what we adopt into our own lifestyle.

One of the most powerful revelation given to the children of Israel when they came out of Egypt was that God was sending His angel to lead them and they ought not to provoke him. God is particular to everything that pertains to Him and we who are born again and have given our lives to Him need to walk circumspectly, discerning the times which we are living in.

We can’t get caught up and bogged down by every new fad which is happening in the world and to keep our eyes on Jesus is the methodology by which overcoming the temptation is effectuate.

Beloved, don’t say it can’t be done; seek God on how to do it.

Trivia: Who was said to have “The law of truth was in his mouth”? Who was God speaking about?
