He took away the bruises….

be healed

God:already the made and wants us to appropriate it.

Isaiah 53:4,5 (KJV) Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed”.

I am pretty sure many of us get to point where we undergo some type of affliction in our lives; things break, go out of alignment, parts fail every now and again. It’s at these moments if we aren’t too big into praying that we learn to reach out to God in our pain; sometimes quietly or at times with loud groaning or even cries demanding healing.

Best practices are getting prayers in before we need attention: heaven works when we pray and Jesus did warn us to “pray without ceasing” Matthew 26:41. Look at it this way, if there is no money in the bank, you can’t go and request a deposit, so put some deposits in your heavenly account and get the spiritual banking relationship going.

We see in the reading today that the provisions for our healing are already in place; they have been in place for a long while and at times we delay in appropriating what is available to us because of lack of knowledge or understanding. But it is God’s desire today and forever that everyone take part in the healing virtue he has laid up for His people.

We invest a lot of time, money and effort for the most part in getting a secular education; God offers the bread of life freely to us, the onus is on us to know what we have available.

Can you spare some time investing in yourself and knowing the gifts that are available to you through the shed blood of Jesus? It is worth all of the effort.

Trivia: Who was said to have “The law of truth was in his mouth”? Who was God speaking about?

  1. Thought-provoking post! I love the trivia too – I have to look up and research most of the answers but it helps keep me in God’s Word! I think the answer is Malachi??

Great reminder! It is too easy to be a slacker at times, at least for me.

    Concised essence 🙂

How we need to learn to pray more often! More than dinner prayers, or bedtime prayers. We pray in good times as well as bad. Share everything with the Lord, that’s how we grow closer to Him!

    Thank you, VW!

  5. Amen. It’s a wise thing to do. Thank you!
