God: still stands by His great name….
Joshua 24:9-10 (KJV) “Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and warred against Israel, and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you: But I would not hearken unto Balaam; therefore he blessed you still: so I delivered you out of his hand”.
The world is a presumptuous place and many who are out of Christ are still in a war with the body of Christ or with believers; you can see this from the level of warfare and accusations leveled against those who are calling on the Lord: we know why they hate us as they do.
You know why it’s easy for you to be the first one to be targeted in a group full of individuals especially when you are only known by the light of God’s glory shining from within you; and you know that for just this reason you will be vilified, for the name of Jesus: be glad for so persecuted they the prophets which came before you are the words of Jesus.
In today’s reading we see the Israelites going about their business and being targeted in such a manner as to bring about a curse to the lives; God made a pronouncement and refused to hear the words of the one tasked with doing such a thing to His people. He refused to listen or sanction such actions.
Beloved you can take courage in the fact that if you are living in Christ and you haven’t opened a door for the adversary to gain entrance, God is standing up for you boldly and telling those who want to bring a charge against you, tear down your name, make all types of false accusations against you: This thing will not come to fruition.
God is standing and fighting for your name, because your name is linked to His name and He can only swear by His name. As a result of being called a son or daughter of the highest God, He will take up armament for you. And I know this ought to bring about some reassurance that your God is awesome and He will move mountains on your behalf.
Trivia: Who was said to have “The law of truth was in his mouth”? Who was God speaking about?
Great encouraging post! and the answer to the trivia question I believe is Malachi?
