God: has a design for all our houses….
Malachi 1:1,3 (KJV) “And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness. Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the Lord of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the Lord hath indignation forever”.
In our society today we are taught to be proactive and plan for our lives and for the things we want to accomplish in life; it is the thing to plan and set goals for our lives and then work toward putting them into place. But how many of us also know that without God in the equation, what we are doing is going to be very hard tasks?
I heard a statement the other day, “except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain” (Psalm 127:1 KJV); these words are from God to His prophet Malachi about His people and those who fought against them.
It is easy to hide behind the manifestation of Jesus Christ and all He has done for the world in coming and shedding His blood for the appropriation of our sins. Jesus also said, “think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil” (Matthew 5:17 (KJV).
With that said, when God tells us that we are building houses in vain if He decides to destroy it, what shall we say then? As believers it is impossible to live in disobedience and have a rebellious spirit against the instructions of Jesus and expect to acquire the full covering of Jesus. Disobedience and other presumptuous sins are guaranteed to build a ladder of hindrance in our lives; and we know the adversary of our faith is just looking for an entrance way into our lives to wreak havoc.
At times it is difficult on our own to beat the bad habits we have lived with for years, but if it is anti-God and is preventing us from getting into the zone where we ought, I would want it gone. Seek the guidance and leading of the Holy Spirit to get deliverance and He is faithful to accommodate us.
