God:requires us to study His Word to show approval...
Galatians 1:7-8 (KJV) “Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed”.
We live in a time now more than any other time in history where the Word of God is put out to the world; it is also a time where it has been translated and maneuvered and changed to suit interpretations and certain words, statements and phrases changed to be more appealing to public consumption.
This practice is very unnerving; especially when it is the Word which is targeted for change, the source of direction, the direction which shows what road to take and the various turns and paths which would lead to the right way instead of crashing and burning. I would take serious offense if anyone would place faulty signs leading to my house especially if I was expecting guests.
In the reading for today, we see the Apostle identifying the problem and seeing the intent was to “pervert” the gospel which we are instructed to spread to the world. How does this affect us as believers? What option do we have when we see these atrocities being perpetrated?
When Joshua took over the helm from Moses, God sanctioned him to read the word “daily” and let it never depart from his mouth, “Let not the book of this law depart from thy mouth: but thou shalt meditate on it day” (Joshua 1:8 KJV). That my friend is Godly direction; if you don’t know the bible, the Word of God for yourself then it is quite easy for someone skilled in subterfuge to feed you what they want.
I know you only eat what you want and when you want for sustenance for the body, so do the same for the Word of God, feed on it, let it be your daily bread, search the scriptures like the Bereans, who desired a greater understanding of what they heard. And according to the Apostle Paul, then you would have the authority to declare that anyone teaching any other gospel to be a curse.
Get into your place of authority today and fight the good fight of faith.
