In everything there is some order….

Flip it

God:He is watching; smiling; waiting....

Deuteronomy 12: 8-9(KJV) “Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes. For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the Lord your God giveth you”.

I get to wondering at times, this language and directions we get from reading and understanding the word of God in the OT is very direct with very little wriggle room. I like order and I am accustomed to following a fixed protocol of behavior; doesn’t mean that I never get to looking at what makes the other person tick; on the contrary, I spend much time observing other people’s behavior.

One thing I strongly believe in is the establishment of leadership and the rationale why they are placed in this position, but they also need to be operating under directions and not just pulling things from the air. That would be chaotic and this is what the reading today is pointing to; each individual need not decide to start to do whatsoever is right in their own eyes: Anarchy anyone?

God in His wisdom decided that He would create us after His image and as such placed certain demonstrable behavior before us as a guideline; a person can’t just pick up and say that this is what they feel like doing today; it being in total contradiction to best behavior.

Nevertheless, the fact that we identify and have pinpointed what the acceptable behavior mode is, our intelligence has brought up another challenge: interpretation of the code.

I just have to say at this point, our actions are admirable and I am pretty sure God in all His wisdom, looks at us and smile or chuckle at our intense actions. Much like a parent would enjoy the tricks and mannerisms of their children.

Yes, I am sure with Jesus at His side, up there in heaven, He smiles at us.

New Trivia: This prophet was quoted by Jesus as He established His ministry in the tabernacle; who is it?

  1. Please be sure that we give God a lot to smile about.

  2. Really, I understand this is that we are the children of Adam and Eve, fallen into separation from direct contact with God. God in biblical stories did reveal Himself in times and there also are times when angles spoke to humans on His behalf for us. However, until Jesus paid the price for sin – separation, there really was no understanding of atonement. Now, even since that time, the promise of the atonement still remains little understood. We still as humans lack the clarity of love that is divinity – unconditional love. The body-mind (ego, flesh, form) is incapable and rebellious by nature – troubled deeply with shame, guilt and regret it rebels in fear of the life of divinity. So far, I have not ever read a single honest person that claims absolute freedom from egoic mind.
Adam and Eve were suddenly fearful of God’s unconditional calm at the separation from His absolute unconditional love… they could not provide a means for salvation because they could not exercise freedom from the terror of separation in sin.

Agreed – we are without maturity that is necessary even to understand salvation and God’s grace – like an infant that sees walking upright looks easy and cannot walk. They try until they can. With Holy Spirit, the time to walk completely in the presence of God will be in a moment ours like the infant that can walk. Maybe some will falter a bit but all will walk with Christ; I think.

    Blessings
