God:exalted His name above all names....
Acts 14:27 (KJV) “And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles”.
The coming of Christ did many things for the world, but especially for those who were classified as unfit to receive the grace and mercy of God, it was a marvelous occasion. Gentiles considered to be far away from the hope and calling of Christ is now able to take part and be covered with the grace and blessings associated with this unity.
In the reading today we one of the most powerful and controversial Apostles at that time, demonstrating the workings of what was deposited by Jesus and powered by the Holy Spirit: fellowship, teaching and learning with the saints.
Apostle Paul had a zeal for the work of spreading the gospel of Christ and He never missed an opportunity to tell of Jesus and the blessings which are given to those who give their lives to Him in this world. He taught about choices, but he did so with love and he did not take the focus for any long period of time away from Jesus; this was a man who understood his task and he did it exemplary.
At times we err in how we do our jobs; I don’t believe it is deliberately, but at times we can be so self-centric that demonstrating Christ can be an elaboration about what we accomplished couched in Him being so good; you tack Him on at the end to emphasize that it’s not really about you, Jesus did it (very transparent I would say). Did Jesus get the glory any at all?
Beloved, witnessing can be enjoyable, but ensure that Jesus is the focal point of what we try to put out there; let that person(s) walk away with a change because you ignited the fire He left when the Word tells us, “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth” (Philippians 2:10 KJV).
That name equates power, so let your witness electrify.
Trivia: He pulled out his hair, threw himself on the ground and refrained from eating because of sin; who is this?
