Conviction brings change…

transition

God: looks at our intelligence and laugh; has a finger and uses it....

1 Timothy 1:12-13 (KJV) “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.”

The thing which God specializes in, is taking a base fellow; a miscreant and one who is always acting the tyrant toward the general population. They fall into the category of Scrooge if you will, as it relates to that which is good in life.

When I say good, I mean Godly good; just so that we understand each other. Anything good is looked at in disdain, and nothing pertaining to charity when it is out of the law would find favor with this character.

I’m pretty sure many of us have come into contact with such individuals in our lifetime; they make no end of misery for your life and cause no end of distress. But the good news with Jesus is that with His death and resurrection; instead of discarding such a one, He would call these folks for employment in His ministry and by the blood which He shed, they are able to be renewed and revived with a transformed zeal for winning souls for Him.

Paul is such a one who was originally blessed with an ill placed zeal and the credentials to back it up and boy did he use his skills to persecute the church of Christ. He took great pleasure in accomplishing this task and it was on one such killing errand that he came into contact with Jesus; and did a change come over him.

Immediately there wasn’t any need to delay or be hesitant and he did not have thoughts of turning back; he just transferred his zeal to that of serving Jesus. By the grace and mercy of Christ Jesus, the former murderer entered into a greater promise and life eternal.

Let that be our portion in this life: instead of beating down and harassing and belittling the body of Christ, let us build it up in honesty and truth and most of all “LOVE”. Jesus asked whether He will find faith on the earth when He returns; I beseech all of us, let us be the faithful ones, let us be faithful.

Trivia: He pulled out his hair, threw himself on the ground and refrained from eating because of sin; who is this?

  1. V,

Yes, let’s build one another up in honesty and love! Amen!

With the trivia question I’m stumped and don’t want to cheat. I feel like it happened a lot in the Bible – I can see it in my mind; throwing himself on the ground, tearing his clothes, and tossing dirt all over himself in dirt or maybe that’s just a different time entirely! For some reason David comes to mind ??? Please do tell, my dear!

    God bless you.
