Knowing it is Him….

God: will visit His friends; has a time for everything...

Luke 2:9-10(KJV) “And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people”.

Imagine sitting in your private space, unwinding from a long day while doing some meditation on the Word of God and your mind gets taken up with the things you are assimilating and just like that you enter into a different world and you start to see things which aren’t legal for a human to be privy.

You start to hear and see things which isn’t par of the course for everyday living; but the most difficult thing is you can’t share what you are seeing and hearing with those who are close to you; first of all its sacred to the point you want to hold unto it and let it all sink into your understanding; and secondly, folks would think you are, well, crazy.

Truth is God is still visiting His people, “surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7 KJV); some of us might not be privy to some of the revelations because we doubt the possibility of God doing as He did in the scriptures.

Then again, God also knows what our hearts can take, and well many of us might not make it through the event to tell about it; although I believe if He wished to grant any of us a divine visitation of His presence He would prepare us for such an event.

The Word in Acts 2 and Joel 2 goes into detail on this promise and revelation of God to His prophet that His Spirit will be poured out in the latter days. My friend, your time for a divine visitation might be closer than you think.

Be in earnest expectation if your need and thirst for more from God is just bursting out of your inner being.

Trivia: He pulled out his hair, threw himself on the ground and refrained from eating because of sin; who is this?

  1. Amen.Thank you Lord for opening the heavens upon us, pour out your salvation like rain on the Nations and let your SON be glorified. And Lord, bless the vessel you have used today to inspire and prepare us. Thank you!

In response to your question about my background, I must say that I told my wife about your question and comments. She rolled her eyes back, and said, “boy, she didn’t need to say that!” My wife loves to “keep me humble, and honest.” Which is good. But, let me tell you about another woman, who also had a major contribution to my desire to study God’s Word. Helen was the mother of my best friend, Gene. I used to spend a lot of weekends with Gene. During many of those nights there, Helen and I would have long night conversations about the Bible. Helen told me that when she came to faith in Christ, that she read the gospels, over and over, until she fell in love with Jesus. She probably was the best preacher that I ever knew. She didn’t speak from the pulpit, but she was always speaking God’s Word to whomever would listen to her. Late, one night, I asked her how she knew so much about the Bible. She responded with, “what I know about the Bible is but a drop in the bucket;” but, she continued, “I don’t know everything that is in the Bible, but I know what shouldn’t be there.” That helped me to always want to “study the real thing.”

The story about Helen and Gene was in 1966-68. I had time in the military during the Vietnam War, though not in Vietnam. I have learned the value of constantly reading the Bible, and following word studies of key words that would show themselves. One of those words, “know,” was made known to me in 1987. A pastor was reading through John 17:3. He kept on reading, but bells went off in my head. I stayed with that verse throughout that sermon. When I got home, I began a word study of “know.” It has blessed me, in many ways, and has given me a verse that is my favorite one (John 17:3).

Key authors, pastors, and teachers have been used by God to help me gain a greater understanding of the Bible. As for favorites , I have found the following to be exceptional in their ability to deeply expose God’s Word: Charles Stanley, Adrian Rodgers, David Jeremiah, Jack Graham, Rick Warren, Lloyd Ogilvie, John MacArthur, R.C. Sproul, D. James Kennedy, J.I. Packer, C.I. Scofield, Charlies Ryrie. Please forgive me for any ommission of other credible pastors and scholars who have helped to shape my understanding of God’s Word.

It has been very helpful for me to came to an understand of God’s promises. The Gospel of John has been key to my understanding such things. It has also been important for me to understand the things that God has already fone for us. The epistle to the Ephesians has been a key book for that subject. A proper belief and understanding of God’s creation, and following sovereignty has been found in the first eleven chapters of the Book of Genesis.

If I were to advise a student to gain the greatest understanding of the Bible, I would direct that person to the Book of John, and to forget all that they had ever learned about that Gospel, and everything else of the Bible. I would tell them to look for the promises of God. My daughter, when she was seven years old, memorized the book of the Bible, in book order. That was not done by me until I was in my mid twenties. It is very important to be able to quickly turn to any book in the Bible.

Radio and television ministries have been extremely helpful to me. Much of my adult life has found me driving my car, for long periods of time. I have always found Christian stations to further my knowledge of the Bible, and to develop a personal phylosophy of God’s Word. That is key to any student of the Bible. It helps such a person to be like my old friend, Helen, who has been with the Lord since about 1986. I will never be able to offer enough thanks for her assistance to me.

The ultimate key to my personal growth has been Bible study, and prayer. I recommend that schedule for you. Please let me know if I can provide more clarification of your question. Blessings,

OK, I am in agreement with the bible studying and praying. I also incorporate deep meditation (with Jesus) as a friend, Father, mother, sister. Which He is to me. My prayer for you is that He visits you earnestly and frequently for your diligence to finding Him.
        Thanks for sharing. vw

Thank you for your kind words. Consider the presence of Father, Son, and Spirit within our spirits, we who have been born again. (John 14:20, Colossians 1:27).
