God: has it all; wants to give it to you;
James 4:8 (KJV)”Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded”.
At times there are certain events and or people who you look up to that have such a magnetic anointing on their lives that you want to know them, at times be close to them and just savor whatever it is that creates the magnetic attraction. It might be music, different gifts being manifested in their presence according to the grace of God. Whatever it is that they have, you either want some of it or just relish close proximity.
But this is strange, scripture tells us “every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James 1:17 KJV). This is telling me that today or tomorrow that person with the gift or anointing might drop dead today or tomorrow, but the giver of the gift is still alive and reigning as a King.
Our motives tend to be slightly askew at times when we get caught up in the hype of the moment and our eyes drift to the left or right, but it is away from God. If God is the provider of all good and perfect thing which I require in life, that tells me I can seek the face of God; much less if the Word is saying that He has given us an invitation without barriers to draw nigh or close to Him and He will be found or draw close to us, the only excuse is myself and the level with which I restrict the movements.
If it is that God has granted me an invitation, or to put it in our modern-day language, I have a date with the most high, by God, if He wants to have me for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I have the clothes to get ready and the emptiness to be filled.
If it is that He is promising that as long as I make myself available in getting into close proximity with Him, He will show up and demonstrate a tangible attraction, let this date get off to the right start and build up to a great climax.
Someone may be looking in the wrong direction for the right reason, but God is saying, stop doubting that it is possible, because with God ALL things are possible. Cease from thinking it is about religious routines, it isn’t; “draw close to God” religious routine isn’t what being with God is about. Don’t look to the gift, but look to the giver of the gifts and see how your hunger pangs will get satisfied.
Be blessed in Jesus name.
New Trivia: He was offered property freely to give an offering to God, but refused and paid full price; who is this?
There is some good sense here. Thanks — as your trivia seems vaguely familiar; but I don’t know what I can’t recall — here is an interesting different article I read that you may enjoy:
