God: only one to justify us; adoptive father; holds the white gowns for cleansing.
Romans 8:15, 16 (KJV) “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God”.
Years ago when I decided to form a relationship with God and I started to familiarize myself with the members of the body of Christ I started hearing different terms which frankly, I had to take some time getting accustomed. I discovered that some terms which are spoken in a worldly context have a far different meaning with the body of Christ.
The bride of Christ for instance refers to the church on a whole while a man having a bride is pointing to his wife; however the concept if lived biblically is on par. But I digress just a bit, I intended talking about adoption into the body of Christ, which is one of the most gracious and precious event that could happen to an individual.
This is a union of supernatural proportions wherein your spirit and soul become engaged and intertwined with that of the Spirit of God; perfection I would say. With this special occasion there is no need to on the outside looking in; casting aspersions on something you don’t understand or fight a losing battle.
On the contrary in my eyes, the believer who set out to KNOW God and what He expects; learn what the relationship entails; the promises from God to the believer; what is expected on their part can enter a realm and depth of spiritual living which will enable them to be an asset to the body.
This is a period of expectation and new growth that is constantly renewing itself and the wisdom of God is unfathomable. As we dig into this realm it is no hardship to call ourselves Sons of God; which is not an implication that we have to do anything outside of accepting Jesus as our Savior to be adopted, for I believe with the acceptance and a willingness to change, the Holy Spirit will do the rest in alignment with the grace of God.
What are you willing to settle for today; a deeper walk or just a surface relationship?
