God: relishes praises and worship; earnestly seeks our company
Isaiah 44:24 (KJV) “Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself”.
At times you look at the world surrounding you and the endless stream of unfathomable events taking place which makes your crazy world look normal and you tend to wonder if you are missing something.
Did I somehow forget to sign up with some subscription to get an invitation to the meeting to discuss what is relevant? I tend to ask myself that question at times when I observe the fastness in life. And then at other times, I refer to my little book of instructions and I get directed to a verse or phrase which tells me, you are doing as I (God) instructed, keep on with what you are doing.
This reassure me; why? Because I don’t have to feel pressured into doing something I don’t want or give into other things which in the long run might prove to be frivolous. Many things we subscribe to in life can prove to be a strain on our psyche. Where is the value?
I like to know that I am accountable to someone in how I live my life; not saying I eschew independence, but in the big scheme of things I love the direction I get from my heavenly Father; I believe He spent quality time creating us, forming us, implanting things within us which causes us to be valuable to each other as a society and more especially to His body.
If we really know God, we know His Words after all, that is the reason He inspired men called by His name to create direction and guidance for us in the here and now. I cherish the book of love, written by St John in the 17th chapter and verse 20 which Jesus emphasizes, “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word”. He was referring to such as myself and I know that I am covered by His grace.
If you then are called to His purpose then it is prudent to know what He is about; serving isn’t about feeling or emotions because these soon fade, but when you feed on the Word it will last you a lifetime. Feelings and emotions are deceptive and can be imitated, no more or less than any drug which gives you a high, then leaves you empty when it fades.
I believe it is important to understand if God created you, formed you, knew you from way back when, and you claim Him, get to know Him; what is He about, really? Not just some feeling or some emotion; that is just plain spooky. Get to know HIM, know His Word, then you can go about pleasing Him and not yourself.
Trivia: Although he had a great and major destiny to fulfill, the Lord would have killed him because he didn’t follow a covenant agreement, who is this?
