Being of Royalty

Royal priesthood

God: King of kings, Lord over all, Supreme, excellent

2 Timothy 1:7: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”.

As you peruse the news on a daily basis, some of the information if not for a strong constitution would cause you to faint. I would literally faint if I had to deal with some of the material on a closer level and I am not sure if it because I am pretty sheltered or conservative for the most part in my concepts, but I found myself wondering as well if it was because of fear.

Strange you are most likely thinking, but it’s not really; when you look at some of the situation and realize that but for the grace of God, some one of your relative, close family member, or even very close acquaintances could be victims or involved in some of these occurrences (and for some people this is so true), it causes one to pause and consider their lifestyle.

The thing is, God didn’t give us the spirit of fear as the scripture of the day advices us, but of power, love and sound mind.  This is telling me that despite what is happening all around us, even if it comes close to us and touches us in any way, the results will be to give God glory for through it all, whether you are affected or not your protection is assured by the direction of God.

Every believer should have a sound mind and understand to a certain level what they are called to accomplish and where they are called to be in life; for scripture tells us we are “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you” (1Peter 2:9). I can live with that and I can utilize my royalty to declare and decree things which are not to my liking according to the word of God.

I like this royalty thing; it allows me to make pronouncements and declarations as a child of God.

This can go to one’s head if not careful.

So as I go deal with my newfound realization of royal inclination, let me leave you with one question: which lineage do you belong?

Trivia: In speaking to God, he told God that He was perfect before him: who is this person?
