God:direct, upright, straight forward, mysterious, et al
Psalm 79:4-6 “We are become a reproach to our neighbors, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us. How long, Lord? wilt thou be angry forever? Shall thy jealousy burn like fire? Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name”.
As a young child growing up with your parents, you were very sensitive to the moods in the home; you learnt when to become quiet and when to be pushy and even when to retreat to your room and ride out high level discussions for “adult only”. You pretty much were sensitive to the atmosphere around you and acted in accordance to what was being felt.
As a believer in Christ, we also have to be sensitive to the move of the Holy Spirit or in another sense the working of God’s spirit, His direction, and His desires for us on this earth. It can be pretty easy to become caught up with the noise you hear around you. Noises come from family members, neighbors, social media (major noise) and even the things you are involved in on a daily basis.
The requirement God has for us as a member of His body is that we place Him on the forefront of our to-do list; oh yes, attention is needed for the body of Christ to be effective. You can have many strings pulling at your heart, but when God speaks and pulls on that link to your heart, make sure that the answer is YES.
Know especially that what He has for you to do cannot be accomplished by your sister halfway across the world. I guess what I am trying to say is when you disavow the vow you made with Christ, you somehow in breach with God; He might even be in a perplexed state over your behavior; things you needed to accomplish might just be shifted and blessings to be bestowed upon you pushed to another.
I am here to tell you, I don’t want anyone encroaching on what is mine from God and I believe I don’t need to invite anger from Him either, so just about now, let me go talk to my Father and see what is outstanding in my attitude toward Him and the body of Christ.
Beloved, I suggest you do the same.
