Psalm 47:6 “Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises”.
There are plenty of things we have been taught in life, yet as we do the daily stuff of life, we tend to get a tad forgetful of the relevant ones and can be reactive rather than contemplative and what we learn tend to go through the window. I’m pretty sure you can attest to what I am saying.
This habit became very real for me not too long ago; I know the benefits of praise and worship and how it charms the spirit of God, but it also does something to me: my spirit, soul, mind and body. Even as I give unto God what is due Him on a daily basis. His adoration, honor, glory from my lips, sweet melody of songs within my heart, I get a renewing of my spirit and soul. I get taken to another place, a new dimension where I can deal with situations and events as they occur in a different manner than which I did in a time previously.
Everything I just wrote is a habit that is learnt and comes over time, but like anything else if not put into practice, can be of little use, especially when you need it most.
Just so, I got caught up in an exchange which was protracted rather than in your face, and when the climax came I wasn’t ready to deal with it and instead of applying rationale I reacted. This was a big mistake because it was prolonged for a longer period than I wished.
However, as soon as I caught myself, I put into place the focus on God and appreciation of Him and I was able to deal effectively with the situation.
Beloved, get into the habit of incorporating God into everything you do and see your day turn into something that will make those who know you rethink their position of who you are.
